Amatsu Mikaboshi was the Kami of Japanese Underworld known as Yomi. He was exiled there when the other Kami came into existence. But before he was exiled he took Oblivion with him into Yomi’s depths. There he existed protecting the dead and damned souls from the ravages of other Hell beings. After centuries of war between the other Hell dieties he sought a respite from his own hell (Yomi) and began to ponder a way around the sacred laws of the Kami. The most sacred and severe was they must not walk with humans, or aid them unless it is a cosmic event. But no rule said they can’t walk within a human. But no ordinary human would contain a vessel and those were rare which could. He had to wait for centuries and acted behind the scenes.Izangi, his lord and master, the Kami’s ruler came and offered him a small chance to be free of Yomi for a human life span, roughly 100 years. Amatsu jumped at the chance and was presented with a worthy vessel with a sacred seal which could contain his vessel. The gift was for superb service of the souls of the dead and damned. The body given had been branded with markings allowed Amatsu his freedom. There were conditions, he could not rule over humans or control them directly and he could not start wars, but he could maintain balance. The devious Amatsu accepted these terms, as they were the only two.He had ascended out of Yomi and became Daiki Masushi, son of the famed samurai. The childhood was brutal, he almost exiled himself back but that was no plan. Vessels like this were rare, he had to make a line starting here. He grew into a warrior of respect like his father, sired a family and so forth. Going down in history as the second greatest samurai of his universe. His life expired and he was sent back to Yomi. Izangi never said he could not return and with a viable line of vessels he could have another chance.Then as he was in Hell biding his time, the people had began to leave Earth. Home of the Kami’s children and the light brought by the sacred flame of the four dragons. The year was 2507, Earth was a wasteland and stripped bare. People had forgotten about the Kami which allowed Amatsu to bend the rules and rejoin them. He had a child like curiosity about humanity and watching only caused it to grow. When the last ship embarked Earth his vessel was worthy and ready for him. He entered it leaving his shadow self to run Yomi in his absence. The ship landed on another world, much like Earth in it’s primordial state. The settlers had come to a larger continent but by no means the largest as it was the most stable and began to build their new home.After a few years, he had established his place as soldier. Some laughed at his methods but the samurai way survived, he joined the defense of the city. It held more than one million people. On a routine security sweep he was taken away and landed in another dimension.
